MDK2 HD is a re-release of MDK2, it is being released on the Nintendo Wii through WiiWare as MDK2 and on the PC as MDK2 HD. The game was under development of Beamdog and their subsidary Overhaul Games.

WiiWare[]

The Wii version of the game was not updated much in terms of graphics, but rather gameplay. Like the HD version, each character's gameplay system has been altered to seem more independant. To further support this style of gameplay, support for the Nintendo Wii's Wii Remote and the Wii Nunchuk has also been added.

PC[]

The PC version features updated HD graphics as well as enhanced audio from original sources. The game boasts 10 levels with over 20 enemies as well as three playable characters. Each different character's gameplay has been altered to give them a more independant form of playing. Unique levels and items have been created for each character.

Reception[]

Wii[]

The Wii version of the game managed to get mostly positive reviews, having an average of 80 % on GameRankings. NintendoWorldReport gave the game 85, praising it as a well designed platformer. GamePro and Nintendo Life both gave the game a score of 80.

PC[]

The PC version of the game garnered mixed reviews, getting an average of 72 on Metacritic. Reviewing sites such as Game Chronicles and Multiplayer.it gave the game 88 and 82 respectively, whereas sites like Meristration, IncGamers and GameShark gave the game 75, 70 and 50.

Release[]

  • MDK2 HD was released on May 9th, 2011. It topped the WiiWare charts on the week of its release.
